Composite decks never need staining or sealing, and are resistant to insects, rot, fading, staining, cracking and peeling. Composite decks allow you to spend more of your precious time enjoying your deck, and less of your time maintaining it. Some of our client’s prefer these versatile products for the added life-expectancy and low maintenance attributes that composite materials offer. Composite decking is made from recycled plastic, which makes it extremely durable, as well as environmentally responsible. Just Deck’s builders are highly experienced in working with certified composite materials (instead of Cedar or other natural woods). Pick what you're going to love in 5 years and get it installed properly.Just Decks is proud to have created over 1000 unique and highly appealing single and multi-level deck structures, which blend beautifully into the surrounding environment. Once you're in a solid, capped, composite deckboard, they're all almost the same. You're going to look out of your window drinking your coffee and like the deck, or wish you went with something different. That Trex is a 3 side cap and TimberTech is 4, that Trex uses a plastic hidden fastener and TimberTech is metal. In the end, I tell my customers that 5 years from now, you're not going to care that Trex is a 25 year warranty and TimberTech is 30 year. I would stay away from the Terrain, the scooped back product saves cost by having less material in the board, but I do not think they are as strong as a solid backed product like the Tropical and Legacy. Also note that every warranty I'm aware of is prorated, and only covers product, not labor. I've never had a fade warranty claim on any capped composite decking product in 5 years. 1 delta is about the slightest change in color that the human eye can detect. They will allow 5 delta of fading before they consider it a faded product and will cover under warranty. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, if it's installed properly, they all perform well.Īlmost all manufacturers of capped boards have a 20-30yr fade and stain warranty. Trex keeps the bottom open to let the board breathe, Armadillo seals the board so nothing gets in or out. Trex caps their board on 3 sides, Fiberon on all sides, but then cuts their groove through the cap, Timbertech caps all 4 sides, but doesn't seal it's ends, and allows you to groove the square edge board, Armadillo caps all 4 sides and you have to seal ends and not penetrate the capstock. Which is what also makes it more prone to mold and mildew. An uncapped board is going to fade, it's going to suck up sunblock, ketchup, bug spray, wine, and anything else that is dropped on it.
